Gardening

And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.”

genesis 1:29

AT FAITHFUL STILL WE VALUE SLOWING DOWN AND TAKING THINGS BACK TO THE BASICS.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO US TO EDUCATE OUR CLIENTS ON NUTRITION AND HOW TO GROW YOUR OWN FOOD.
FINDING THE IMPORTANCE OF SLOWING DOWN AND GETTING YOUR HANDS IN THE DIRT IS HARD TO DO THESE DAYS WITH ALL THE HUSTLE OF THE WORLD. WE WANT TO CHANGE THAT.

The Giving Garden

The Giving Garden at Faithful Still is created to cultivate healing, generosity, and beauty through flowers. Rooted in a faith-forward, trauma-informed mission, the garden serves therapy clients, the community, and the land itself. Through intentional design, careful stewardship, and shared giving, this garden offers moments of peace, restoration, and connection. The vision is for growth to be nurtured, flowers are freely given, and hope is carried beyond the farm to others.
The Giving Garden is envisioned as a peaceful, sun-filled space where flowers are grown. Designed to complement Faithful Still’s farm-based therapy environment, the garden offers clients an additional sensory and grounding experience. Each bloom represents care: care for those walking through healing from trauma, care for the community receiving donated flowers, and care for the land entrusted to us. The flowers serve as a tangible reminder of growth, resilience, and beauty even after hardship.

Why Flowers? Why Dahlias?

Flowers have a unique ability to communicate care and comfort without words. They invite slowing down, noticing beauty, and engaging the senses in gentle ways.
Dahlias were intentionally chosen as the primary flower for the first year due to their abundant blooms, cutting season, and wide variety of colors and forms. With proper conditions: full sun, consistent watering, and organized row planting, dahlias offer both visual beauty and generous yield.
Underground Dahlias do magical things. They multiply! The tubers can be dug up, cleaned up, stored and more can be planned again the next year.
Their strong, upright growth supports a clean, aligned garden design that feels intentional and well cared for, while their diversity allows the space to feel joyful. Dahlias also photograph beautifully, helping visually tell the story of the garden’s impact through documentation, storytelling, and future outreach.
